Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait Of Lucrezia, Daughter Of Niccolò Di Sinibaldo Gaddi, Standing Full-Length In The Garden Of The Palazzo Gaddi, With A Macaw And A Jerboa by Santi di Tito. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 106,250.00 (€ 124,223.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Santi di Tito have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2015 the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black embroidered silk doublet and cloak, with a ruff, holding gloves and a letter in his left hand, a lute on the table was auctioned for GBP 158,500.00 (€ 224,699.76).
