This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings Evening Sale at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Sano di Pietro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madonna And Child; Saint John The Baptist; Saint Jerome:  A Portable Triptych in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,635,000.00 (€ 1,401,028.28).
