Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings Part II, which included the work Madonna and Child surrounded by Saint John, Saint Bernardino of Siena, and angels by Sano di Pietro. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 107,100.00 (€ 88,257.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sano di Pietro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madonna And Child; Saint John The Baptist; Saint Jerome: A Portable Triptych in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,635,000.00 (€ 1,401,028.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Madonna and Child surrounded by Saint John, Saint Bernardino of Siena, and angels von Sano di Pietro zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 88.257,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sano di Pietro erzielen.
