In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work The Madonna and Child by Sano di Pietro. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 197,000.00 (€ 219,821.75), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sano di Pietro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madonna And Child; Saint John The Baptist; Saint Jerome: A Portable Triptych in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,635,000.00 (€ 1,401,028.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 31 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Madonna and Child von Sano di Pietro zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 197.000,00 (€ 219.821,75) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sano di Pietro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madonna And Child; Saint John The Baptist; Saint Jerome: A Portable Triptych im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.635.000,00 (€ 1.401.028,28).
