In the IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PAINTINGS PART I auction, the work A triptych: the central panel: The Madonna and Child with two angels and Christ on the Cross; the wings: Saint John the Baptist; and Saint Peter sold for USD 42,000.00 (€ 32,186.37) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sano di Pietro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madonna And Child; Saint John The Baptist; Saint Jerome: A Portable Triptych in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,635,000.00 (€ 1,401,028.28).
