Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Gathering Paradise by Sandy Skoglund. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,616.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Sandy Skoglund have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Green House, 1990 in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 46,411.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathering Paradise von Sandy Skoglund zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.616,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sandy Skoglund auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Green House, 1990 im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 46.411,86).
