The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,349.09) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Walters - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Confederate blockade runner C.S.S COLONEL LAMB at sea, which sold at auction in February 2004 for USD 77,675.00 (€ 62,434.69).

Die Arbeit The Frankfield 'showing her number' in rough seas off Table Bay, Cape Town von Samuel Walters wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.349,09) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00.
