Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work The British Merchantman Clifford In A Stiff Breeze, Preparing To Pick Up Her Pilot Off The Great Orme, North Wales, On The Return From Her Maiden Voyage To India by Samuel Walters. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,331.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Samuel Walters have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Confederate blockade runner C.S.S COLONEL LAMB at sea in February 2004 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 62,434.69).

Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit The British Merchantman Clifford In A Stiff Breeze, Preparing To Pick Up Her Pilot Off The Great Orme, North Wales, On The Return From Her Maiden Voyage To India von Samuel Walters zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.331,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Samuel Walters auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Confederate blockade runner C.S.S COLONEL LAMB at sea im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 62.434,69).
