The work Unknown by Samuel Shelley was sold in the Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction at Christies in London in June 2010. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,920.99), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Shelley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Aston sisters: Lady Legard and Mrs Hedges as Flora and Ceres, their arms around one another, in white dresses and pink and green stoles, ears of wheat and flowers in their upswept powdered hair, one sister holding a basket of fruit and the other, which sold at auction in April 2002 for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,615.67).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.920,99) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
