Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of An Officer by Samuel Shelley was sold in the Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian auction at Sothebys in London in March 2017. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 813.00 (€ 952.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Shelley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Aston sisters: Lady Legard and Mrs Hedges as Flora and Ceres, their arms around one another, in white dresses and pink and green stoles, ears of wheat and flowers in their upswept powdered hair, one sister holding a basket of fruit and the other in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,615.67
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of An Officer von Samuel Shelley wurde im März 2017 in der Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Aston sisters: Lady Legard and Mrs Hedges as Flora and Ceres, their arms around one another, in white dresses and pink and green stoles, ears of wheat and flowers in their upswept powdered hair, one sister holding a basket of fruit and the other im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.615,67).
