Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a child with her dog by Samuel Shelley was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,134.00 (€ 1,266.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Shelley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Aston sisters: Lady Legard and Mrs Hedges as Flora and Ceres, their arms around one another, in white dresses and pink and green stoles, ears of wheat and flowers in their upswept powdered hair, one sister holding a basket of fruit and the other in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,615.67

Die Arbeit Portrait of a child with her dog von Samuel Shelley kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.134,00 (€ 1.266,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Shelley erzielen.
