Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Young Lady, In Gold-Spotted White Dress With Lace-Bordered Light Blue Scarf Draped Over Her Shoulders, Pearls In Her Upswept, Powdered And Curled Hair by Samuel Shelley was sold in the IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU auction at Christies in London in July 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 780.00 (€ 1,131.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Shelley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Aston sisters: Lady Legard and Mrs Hedges as Flora and Ceres, their arms around one another, in white dresses and pink and green stoles, ears of wheat and flowers in their upswept powdered hair, one sister holding a basket of fruit and the other in April 2002 with an auction result of GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,615.67
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Young Lady, In Gold-Spotted White Dress With Lace-Bordered Light Blue Scarf Draped Over Her Shoulders, Pearls In Her Upswept, Powdered And Curled Hair von Samuel Shelley wurde im Juli 2005 in der Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES AND OBJECTS OF VERTU bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Aston sisters: Lady Legard and Mrs Hedges as Flora and Ceres, their arms around one another, in white dresses and pink and green stoles, ears of wheat and flowers in their upswept powdered hair, one sister holding a basket of fruit and the other im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.450,00 (€ 2
