In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A young gentleman, in blue velvet coat with gold buttons and red collar, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, powdered hair en queue by Samuel Shelley.
