Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for "Spanish Peaks, Southern Colorado" by Samuel Colman was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2008. The price achieved of USD 43,000.00 (€ 27,634.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Colman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Becalmed in the Highlands in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for "Spanish Peaks, Southern Colorado" von Samuel Colman kam im Mai 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.000,00 (€ 27.634,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Colman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Becalmed in the Highlands im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 343.818,08).
