Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Piazza San Marco, Venice by Samuel Colman was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in December 2004. The price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 5,919.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Samuel Colman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Becalmed in the Highlands in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 505,000.00 (€ 343,818.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Piazza San Marco, Venice von Samuel Colman wurde im Dezember 2004 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 5.919,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Samuel Colman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Becalmed in the Highlands im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 505.000,00 (€ 343.818,08).
