Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II, which included the work Portrait Of An Officer Of The Horse Guards Of The Governor-General Of Bengal, Circa 1800 by Samuel Andrews. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,803.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Samuel Andrews have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2011 the work Unknown was auctioned for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,637.88).

Im Juli 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of An Officer Of The Horse Guards Of The Governor-General Of Bengal, Circa 1800 von Samuel Andrews zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.803,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Samuel Andrews konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2011 die Arbeit Unknown für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.637,88) versteigert.
