Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A gentleman, in brown coat, white waistcoat and tied cravat, powdered hair by Samuel Andrews was sold in the Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures auction at Christies in London in December 2003. The price achieved of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,538.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Samuel Andrews - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,637.88).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.538,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Samuel Andrews mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.637,88) versteigert wurde.
