Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work A young gentleman, said to be the artist John Smart, in moss-coloured coat, white waistcoat, frilled cravat, powdered hair; grey sky background by Samuel Andrews was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 4,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,004.16). Other works by Samuel Andrews have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,637.88) in June 2011 for the work Unknown.

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 4.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 6.004,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Samuel Andrews haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 6.637,88) im Juni 2011 für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet.
