A top price for Sam Friedman
When this work without title by Sam Friedman was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in March last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 70,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 252,000.00 (€ 29,009.65). This high result makes the work without title the most expensive artwork by Sam Friedman that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Sam Friedman
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Sam Friedman im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 70.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 252.000,00 (€ 29.009,65) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht das Werk ohne Titel zum teuersten Kunstwerk von Sam Friedman, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
