Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Schooner Yacht "Lady Dora" racing in the Bahamas by Salvatore Colacicco. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,125.00 (€ 842.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Salvatore Colacicco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The American ships Ontario and Liberty both depicted off Naples (one illustrated) in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,100.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Schooner Yacht "Lady Dora" racing in the Bahamas von Salvatore Colacicco zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.125,00 (€ 842,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Salvatore Colacicco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The American ships Ontario and Liberty both depicted off Naples (one illustrated) im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.100,74).
