Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work America's Cup yachts Magic and Glory racing in New York Harbour; and America's yacht Madeleine racing in the Mediterranean by Salvatore Colacicco. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,511.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Salvatore Colacicco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The American ships Ontario and Liberty both depicted off Naples (one illustrated), which sold at auction in May 2010 for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,100.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit America's Cup yachts Magic and Glory racing in New York Harbour; and America's yacht Madeleine racing in the Mediterranean von Salvatore Colacicco zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.511,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Salvatore Colacicco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The American ships Ontario and Liberty both depicted off Naples (one illustrated) beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.100,74) versteigert wurde.
