Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A British man-o'war and other vessels at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour by Salvatore Colacicco was sold in the Maritime Pictures auction at Christies in London in May 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 776.75 (€ 1,165.41). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Salvatore Colacicco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The American ships Ontario and Liberty both depicted off Naples (one illustrated), which sold at auction in May 2010 for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,100.74).

Die Arbeit A British man-o'war and other vessels at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour von Salvatore Colacicco wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion Maritime Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 776,75 (€ 1.165,41) einen neuen Besitzer.
