Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES (PICTURES), which included the work A Royal Naval Two-Decker Amidst Other Shipping; And A Royal Naval Three-Decker In The Channel by Salvatore Colacicco. The price achieved of GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,547.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Salvatore Colacicco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The American ships Ontario and Liberty both depicted off Naples (one illustrated), which sold at auction in May 2010 for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,100.74).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.075,50 (€ 1.547,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden.
