Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'World #4' by Ruud van Empel was sold in the Contemporary Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2019. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,889.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruud van Empel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boy & Girl in May 2015 with an auction result of GBP 80,500.00 (€ 111,926.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'World #4' von Ruud van Empel wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion Contemporary Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.889,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruud van Empel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boy & Girl im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.500,00 (€ 111.926,78).
