Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Photographs, which included the work 'World #37' by Ruud van Empel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 27,500.00 (€ 25,217.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ruud van Empel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boy & Girl in May 2015 with an auction result of GBP 80,500.00 (€ 111,926.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'World #37' von Ruud van Empel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 25.217,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ruud van Empel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boy & Girl im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 80.500,00 (€ 111.926,78).
