Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Utopic Love-In (From The Objekte Series) by Ruth Francken was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 4,750.00. Admittedly, works by Ruth Francken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Siège / Sculpture modèle "homme" in June this year with an auction result of EUR 35,840.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Utopic Love-In (From The Objekte Series) von Ruth Francken im Mai 2011 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 4.750,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ruth Francken auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Siège / Sculpture modèle "homme" im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.840,00.
