Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Rupert Shephard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2003. In the 20th Century British and Irish Art and the Collection of the auction, the work Chateau de Grignon III sold for GBP 956.00 (€ 1,373.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 350.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rupert Shephard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Native Women With Mats, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,556.95).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Rupert Shephard erzielte im Juni 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art and the Collection of the wurde die Arbeit Chateau de Grignon III für GBP 956,00 (€ 1.373,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 350,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Rupert Shephard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Native Women With Mats beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.556,95) versteigert wurde.
