Despite a disappointment, a good price for Runa Islam
In February 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Utterlies/Butterflies by Runa Islam for GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,231.66). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Utterlies/Butterflies is the most expensive artwork by Runa Islam that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Runa Islam
Im Februar 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Utterlies/Butterflies von Runa Islam für GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.231,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Utterlies/Butterflies das teuerste Kunstwerk von Runa Islam, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
