Despite a disappointment, a good price for Rufai Zakari
When the work Waiting Room i by Rufai Zakari was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,849.52). Despite this disappointing result, Waiting Room i is the most expensive artwork by Rufai Zakari that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Rufai Zakari
Als die Arbeit Waiting Room i von Rufai Zakari im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.849,52) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Waiting Room i das teuerste Kunstwerk von Rufai Zakari, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
