Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Girl in Yellow Swimming Costume by Rufai Zakari was auctioned at Phillips in 17 - in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,985.00 (€ 6,338.48). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rufai Zakari - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Waiting Room i, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,849.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Girl in Yellow Swimming Costume von Rufai Zakari im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 17 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.985,00 (€ 6.338,48) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Rufai Zakari mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Waiting Room i beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.849,52) versteigert wurde.
