In November 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting, which included the work Austrian Girl From Damascus by Rudolf Swoboda. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,846.42), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolf Swoboda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The carpet menders in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,161,250.00 (€ 1,475,381.20).

Im November 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Paintings including The Orientalist Sale, Symbolism and the Poetic Vision and Spanish Painting durch, in der auch die Arbeit Austrian Girl From Damascus von Rudolf Swoboda zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.846,42) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rudolf Swoboda erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The carpet menders im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.161.250,00 (€ 1.475.381,20).
