Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work A Peep At The Train, India by Rudolf Swoboda. The price achieved of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 67,761.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rudolf Swoboda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The carpet menders in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,161,250.00 (€ 1,475,381.20).
