The Song Hu Inscription in Seal Script
A set of four hanging scrolls, ink on paper, inscribed by the artist with a dedication to his son, Fu'er, and signed Yixing Laoren Bo Yuan, with three artist's seals Langhuan Xianguang, Yixing Yanling and Huguang shanse Ruangong lou.

This artwork by Ruan Yuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy III auction, the work The Song Hu Inscription In Seal Script sold for USD 35,312.50 (€ 30,502.29) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ruan Yuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nine-character Couplet in Running Script in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,350,000.00 (€ 133,877.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ruan Yuan erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy III wurde die Arbeit The Song Hu Inscription In Seal Script für USD 35.312,50 (€ 30.502,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ruan Yuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nine-character Couplet in Running Script im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.350.000,00 (€ 133.877,43).
