Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy in Running-Standard Script by Ruan Yuan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 71,901.29). Other works by Ruan Yuan have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2013 by the work Nine-character Couplet in Running Script at HKD 1,350,000.00 (€ 133,877.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running-Standard Script von Ruan Yuan im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 71.901,29) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Ruan Yuan wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2013 die Arbeit Nine-character Couplet in Running Script mit HKD 1.350.000,00 (€ 133.877,43).
