This artwork by Ruan Yuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Couplet In Running Script sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,837.82) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ruan Yuan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nine-character Couplet in Running Script in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,350,000.00 (€ 133,877.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ruan Yuan erzielte im September 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Couplet In Running Script für USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.837,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ruan Yuan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nine-character Couplet in Running Script im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.350.000,00 (€ 133.877,43).
