In March 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script by Ruan Yuan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,842.21), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruan Yuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nine-character Couplet in Running Script in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,350,000.00 (€ 133,877.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Clerical Script von Ruan Yuan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.842,21) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruan Yuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nine-character Couplet in Running Script im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.350.000,00 (€ 133.877,43).
