The work Calligraphic Couplet in Standard Script by Ruan Yuan was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2016. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 106,250.00 (€ 12,280.53), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruan Yuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nine-character Couplet in Running Script in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,350,000.00 (€ 133,877.43).

Die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Standard Script von Ruan Yuan wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 12.280,53) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruan Yuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nine-character Couplet in Running Script im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.350.000,00 (€ 133.877,43).
