In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Prints & Multiples: Part I, which included the work Thinking Nude (Corlett 289) by Roy Lichtenstein. The »bidding war« ended at USD 151,200.00 (€ 130,886.43), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Prints & Multiples: Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thinking Nude (Corlett 289) von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 130.886,43) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
