Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waveney Estuary, Suffolk; Orwell Estuary, Suffolk by Rowland Suddaby was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in February 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,471.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rowland Suddaby have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Flowers by a Window in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,989.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Waveney Estuary, Suffolk; Orwell Estuary, Suffolk von Rowland Suddaby wurde im Februar 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.471,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowland Suddaby auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Flowers by a Window im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 5.989,65).
