In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Decoy on the River Stour near Wessington; Estuary at Heybridge, Essex; Still life on a window sill; and Fairbrook Naze from Seal Edge near Bleaklow, Derbyshire by Rowland Suddaby. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,115.31). Admittedly, works by Rowland Suddaby have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Flowers by a Window in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,989.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Decoy on the River Stour near Wessington; Estuary at Heybridge, Essex; Still life on a window sill; and Fairbrook Naze from Seal Edge near Bleaklow, Derbyshire von Rowland Suddaby zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 875,00 (€ 1.115,31) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rowland Suddaby auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Flowers by a Window im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 5.989,65).
