Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Solitude by Rose Hilton was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in September 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,081.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Rose Hilton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,323.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Solitude von Rose Hilton wurde im September 2000 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.081,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rose Hilton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.323,33).
