This artwork by Rosalba Carriera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2019. In the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna auction, the work Portrait of a lady at three-quarter length sold for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 57,641.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rosalba Carriera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rosalba Carriera auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.250,00 (€ 535.202,87).
