It achieved a price of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 104,570.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Admittedly, works by Rosalba Carriera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a young lady, bust-length, turned to the right (An allegory of Spring) von Rosalba Carriera kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 104.570,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rosalba Carriera auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.250,00 (€ 535.202,87).
