Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a lady, bust-length, looking to the right, holding grapes (An allegory of Autumn) by Rosalba Carriera was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 69,713.99). Admittedly, works by Rosalba Carriera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, bust-length, looking to the right, holding grapes (An allegory of Autumn) von Rosalba Carriera kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 62.500,00 (€ 69.713,99) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rosalba Carriera auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 421.250,00 (€ 535.202,87).
