Upper estimate price exceeded by 35 %.
The work An Allegory Of Pride, Circa 1710 by Rosalba Carriera was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It achieved a price of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 8,920.71), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rosalba Carriera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Gustavus Hamilton (1710-1746), 2nd Viscount Boyne, long bust-length, wearing an ermine trimmed coat, tricorn hat and mask in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 421,250.00 (€ 535,202.87).
