Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work Richard Nixon At Airport Rally by Ronald Searle. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,700.30). Admittedly, works by Ronald Searle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Back To School' in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,657.85).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Richard Nixon At Airport Rally von Ronald Searle zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.700,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ronald Searle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Back To School' im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.657,85).
