In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work ‘On The Road With Kennedy’ by Ronald Searle. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,692.78), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ronald Searle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Back To School' in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,657.85).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer durch, in der auch die Arbeit ‘On The Road With Kennedy’ von Ronald Searle zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.692,78) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ronald Searle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Back To School' im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.657,85).
