In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Evening Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Balinese Girl by Romualdo Locatelli. The result of HKD 2,500,000.00 (€ 273,908.61) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Romualdo Locatelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gambuh Dancer, which sold at auction in October 2012 for HKD 6,620,000.00 (€ 659,036.89).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Balinese Girl von Romualdo Locatelli zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 2.500.000,00 (€ 273.908,61) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Romualdo Locatelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gambuh Dancer beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für HKD 6.620.000,00 (€ 659.036,89) versteigert wurde.
