Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tanagers by Roger Tory Peterson was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,973.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Tory Peterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Flamingos in the Andes, which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,219.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tanagers von Roger Tory Peterson kam im September 2010 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.973,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Roger Tory Peterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Flamingos in the Andes beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.219,10) versteigert wurde.
