Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Oropendolas by Roger Tory Peterson. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,973.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roger Tory Peterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Flamingos in the Andes, which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,219.10).
